The volunteers were extremely busy this afternoon answering 25 calls for service in just 5 hours! The biggest number of calls were for water rescues that sent both boats anywhere from West Hempfield Township to Lititz Borough. Some of the other calls included a structure fire, inside investigation, residential flooding, and a rescue company transfer. The Fire Police was assisted PennDot with closing both of the inter-country bridges due to flooding, both bridges have since been reopened.

The volunteers took in two additional water rescues last night with both being in East Hempfield Township. The first was in the area of South Colebrook Road and Landisville Road and the second was on Shreiner Station Road at the covered bridge. Photo from Rohrerstown Fire Company.
