On Saturday morning at 1109 hours; the 911 center started receiving numerous calls of a structure that sent Company 80 and mutual aid into the 500 block of Union Street in the borough. Chief 80 arrived confirming a well-advanced fire with extension to an adjoining structure. Then a few minutes later police advised of a working fire to the rear of a house across the street. Command requested the second alarm to the scene and for the third alarm to stage at the firehouse. Company 80 and mutual aid operated on the scene nearly 5 hours before clearing the scene. Thank you to Rescue 71 and Tower 50 for relocating to Columbia Borough and covering for us along with the assistance with getting our apparatus back into service. Thank you to the mutual aid departments for their assistance yesterday.
The volunteers also would like to give a big thank you all the citizens and businesses for the donation of food and drinks to those operating on the scene.
