Another Busy Midweek for Crews

The volunteers started the day off minutes after midnight with Engine 80 being sent for a barn fire in East Donegal Township. The Engine was redirected to Fire Station 79 for standby. Within 30 minutes of being back in Columbia, the Ladder and Engine were sent for a house fire in West Hempfield Township. The units operated on the scene for 2 hours before clearing. During that time, the Rescue was sent for a house fire in East Hempfield Township. The assignment was held shortly after arrival, placing the Rescue available. After a few hour break, the Squad and Boat 1 were sent to the Susquehanna River in Manor Township for a water rescue. Units found a car in the water the was unoccupied. While on that call, Engine 80 was alerted to assist on a reburn in West Hempfield Township. The Engine assisted on the scene for 1 hour.
