Busy Saturday for the Volunteers

Saturday started off with 10 volunteers meeting for breakfast at the Columbia Family Restaurant. After breakfast was served, LCWC dispatched Station 80 for a reported apartment fire in the 400 block of Locust Street.

Rescue 80 and Squad 801 made the initial response. Crews found burnt cooking in a second floor apartment. Crews ventilated the structure and the box was placed in service shortly after.

After returning to the Columbia Family Restaurant, crews were told a anonymous customer paid for the meals of members. We greatly appreciate the customer’s generosity and thank them for covering the bill!

The 10 members then met with maintenance from the Columbia Borough School District for a guided tour of all 3 schools in the Borough.

The volunteers also responded to a reported building fire in Manor Township and a fire alarm in West Hempfield.
