The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down in our small town of Columbia

This was the first recorded tornado in Columbia’s history, something most thought we would never see. CBFD was dispatched to 22 calls during this event, with no reported injuries, mostly for storm damage, downed wires, and a few reported residential rescues, all proving to not have entrapment. We appreciate the support and the compliance of the citizens. We appreciate the support of all the state, county, and local resources, along with all volunteer groups. Thank you to everyone who helped their neighbors, pulled together, and made the best of this tragic event. We are proud to be a part of this community, one that pulls together during the best and worst events.
